The Newtown Sped PTA is a district-wide non-profit Parent Teacher Association® that helps support the programming of all (K-12) our special needs kiddos throughout Newtown. The mission is to help support parents navigate their children's special education needs as well as provide connection to other parents, and foster positive collaboration with teachers, administrators, and the community.
The Newtown Sped PTA is dedicated to the pillars of inclusion, meaningful communication, and the sharing of education and resources parents and teachers need to help the children in their life.
This year the Newtown Sped PTA will be co-sponsoring a multisport program for K-4th grade, fundraising for sensory friendly equipment to be available for all Newtown school events, and offering mini grants to parents and teachers who want to buy items to make a sensory corner for their home or classroom. We are membership-driven and want to hear from you about what programming You want to see this year!
